She looked at him, smiled, and drew him in close. It was just as Aunt Betty had said: true love at first sight.
So, she kissed him quietly in the privacy of the parlor. She kissed him loudly in the kitchen for attention. She kissed him quickly under the steps before dashing outside. She kissed him softly at night before climbing into bed. She kissed him lovingly in the town.
She kissed him until his head fell off and rolled across the dirt.
And then she cried as Aunt Betty told her she would never buy her another doll again.
