I have written my own eulogy, to save people the trouble when I die. The problem is that I have to rewrite it every year or so to compensate for my changing character. I really shouldn’t complain, though; I would hate to have the eulogy written on my eleventh birthday read over my coffin. It is best to have these newer more mature recollections of my life on hand. I suppose that is why we want to live as long as possible; we would rather be remembered by the maturity of old age than by the follies of our youth.
