I stood on the other side of the road, watching the carnival goers as they danced among the rides and from booth to endless booth. I saw the silhouettes of the people as they rode slowly up in the giant Ferris Wheel surrounded by flashing neon lights and ceaseless shouts of joy. I saw them carrying popcorn and sugar coated candy and new teddies and every prize imaginable. They were smiling. They were happy. And they thought they were living life to the fullest. But they were wrong. In the midst of their laughter, they had missed what truly matters.
