He crouched in the swaying grasses, watching; his hands poised firmly on the trigger of his gun. His camouflaged helmet had slid slightly to one side of his head and little drops of sweat dripped down his painted face mixing the colors. Squinting against the sun, he scanned his surroundings as calmly as he could in the eerie quiet.
A shot rang through the stagnant air. The soldier fell to ground, unable to even make a sound. Silence.
Suddenly he sat bolt upright, his little face wrinkled in anger.
“Stop shootn’ me, Johnny. I’m gonna tattle on you to mommy!”
